A while back, we posted a time-lapse of the construction of the scaffolding going up the Washington Monument as repairs begin on the damage it sustained during the August 2011 earthquake. It wasn’t the smoothest video.

But now there’s a good time-lapse of the damaged obelisk, compressing the erection of the scaffolding and its lighting Monday night into one neat, 58-second clip. The video comes by way of EarthCam, which is training a camera on the Washington Monument offering a round-the-clock feed of the year-long repair job.
