The Metropolitan Police Department says it has arrested a Southeast D.C. man wanted in connection with the armed robbery of several 7-Eleven convenience stores in the District. Phillip Liverpool, 21, was arrested Thursday following an investigation into the robbery of three 7-Eleven branches in D.C. as well as some carried out at stores in suburban counties.
To put it another way, Liverpool, the suspected 7-Eleven robber was arrested on July 11, which would be written in shorthand as “7/11.” And it was also Free Slurpee Day, no less.
The Washington Post reports that Liverpool is being charged with holding up 7-Eleven stores on the 1900 block of Rhode Island Avenue NE on Jan. 25; the 7400 block of Georgia Avenue NW on Jan. 31; and the 2500 block of Benning Road NE on June 12. Police recently released video of the June 12 stick-up, which shows two masked and hooded individuals entering the 7-Eleven at 2501 Benning Road and leaving a few moments later with a cash drawer.
That store has been held up four times since 2011. The Post reports that police are investigating links to other convenience store robberies in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties.
