The loose bull that one Fairfax County resident reported seeing last week turned out to be a pregnant cow with an attitude problem.

Fairfax County Police said in a news release that the Scottish Highland cow, which is horned, was captured Saturday after giving chase around the Centreville, Va. area. Fairfax County police say the cow charged officers and had to be tranquilized. The ornery bovine, which went missing on July 11, even slightly injured a veterinarian.

Charges may be brought against the owner of the cow, which has previously escaped, according to WJLA.

Update: Thanks to citizen Adam Russell, we now have video of the cow evading capture on Union Mill Road. Make sure to watch her move at the 35-second mark.

Second update: The Washington Post relays the sad news that the cow has died. It was apparently not hurt during the confrontation with police.
