The lineup of North Carolina’s The Love Language has shifted over the years, but songwriter Stuart Lamb seems to be in a never-ending spiral of make-ups and fall-outs.
Weaving these stories into indie-pop songs, the band’s third album Ruby Red, follows the band’s career best Libraries. And while their sound has varied from album to album, the raucous opener “Calm Down” is a highlight. The 80s inspired track is one of the fastest songs the band has produced. The recently released video for the track features Superchunk bassist, Laura Balance, breaking up with an astronaut. Check it out below.
The Love Language play with Eternal Summers and Paperhaus Saturday at the Rock and Roll Hotel. Tickets are $13-15.
