Today, some of Beyoncé’s backup dancers stopped by YMCA National Capital to teach a few lucky campers how to strut. Sounds adorable, right?

It was, as Vines from the session show! Except for the fact they strutted to “Blurred Lines,” the sexist Robin Thicke summer jam.

As Washingtonian reported, dancers Kimberly Gipson and Denee Baptiste made a surprise visit to the YMCA this afternoon. They led about 30 campers through stretches and something called “diva walks.” Sadly, there’s no video of the kids dancing to Beyoncé’s “Get Me Bodied,” a song Washingtonian also said was played.

Yes, the only clips from the hour-long session currently online involve “Blurred Lines.” This DCist reporter is sure she will be criticized for finding cute kids strutting to “Blurred Lines” objectionable, especially because the children look like they’re having such a great time. Here’s a copy-and-paste ready comment: “Lighten up, lady! It’s just a song.” But please note that I will not apologize for wishing the kids danced to a song that doesn’t include the lyric, “You the hottest bitch in this place.”

Now a Vine of the kids snapping their fingers and yelling, “I was born ready”? I think we can all agree that’s pretty great.

The dancers, as well as Queen Bey, will perform for a second night at the Verizon Center tonight.
