TUESDAY
The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour (which has a surprisingly detailed Wikipedia page) will close out its two-night stay at the Verizon Center. Expect a large-scale stadium production full costume changes, fireworks and most of all the hits from the Queen B’s massive pop career as a member of Destiny’s Child and as a solo artist. A portion of the proceeds is going to Goodwill and they will be taking donations of lightly used clothes, home goods and electronics before the show. $60-281, 8 p.m.
>> Black Cat: Gauntlet Hair, Jackson Scott. $12, 8 p.m.
>> 930 Club: Paul Weller (ex-The Jam). $45, 7 p.m.
WEDNESDAY
Freak-folk hero Bonnie “Prince” Billy recently teamed up with long-time collaborator Dawn McCarthy to record a batch of Everly Brothers songs. Those recordings became What The Brothers Sang and the duo is touring behind the album. They’ll be headlining Sixth & I Synagogue. The Murphy Beds open the show. $38, 8 p.m.
THURSDAY
Coming off a monstrously successful 2012 and early 2013, New York’s A$AP Rocky will be taking his Long.Live.A$AP on a victory lap at Jiffy Lube Live. He brought along some friends too: perennially stoned weedsmith Wiz Khalifa, Atlanta’s B.O.B. as well as up-and coming emcees Joey Bada$$, Pro Era, Trinidad James, Rockie Fresh and Berner. $33-80, 6 p.m.
>> Merriweather Post Pavilion: O.A.R., Andrew McMahon, Allen Stone. $35-175, 5 p.m.
>> Rock And Roll Hotel: Screen Vinyl Image, Dead Fame. $10, 8:30 p.m.
FRIDAY
Lil Wayne hasn’t released a critically acclaimed album or mixtape since Tha Carter III in 2009, but Weezy F. Baby is a commercial monster. His latest, I Am Not A Human Being II still debuted at number two earlier this year. His America’s Most Wanted Tour will swing through the Verizon Center this weekend and the bill is full of hip-hop A-listers 2 Chainz and T.I. $68-111, 7 p.m.
>> Merriweather Post Pavilion: Mad Decent Block Party: Major Lazer, Zeds Dead, Flosstradamus and many more. $30-75, 2 p.m.
>> Jiffy Lube Live: Black Sabbath. $54-149, 7:30 p.m.
SATURDAY
It’s hard to believe, but The Melvins have been a band for 30 years. The Washington state punk legends will be at the 930 Club in support of one of their two releases planned for 2013. Here’s hoping King Buzzo will be handing out ice cream before the show. $20, 8 p.m.
>> Black Cat: America Hearts, Teen Girl Scientist Monthly, The Mean Season, Jackpot, Tiger. $12, 9 p.m.
>> Merriweather Post Pavilion: Summer Spirit Festival: D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, Busta Rhymes and more. $46-125, 5 p.m.
>> The State Theatre: Johnny Lang. $45, 7 p.m.
