Scuzzy garage rockers Foul Swoops just put out a duo of new music videos. No, the videos aren’t supporting a new album or anything (at least to my knowledge), but they’re a cool little treat from one of the area’s best bands (seriously, see them live when you get the chance).
The videos are for the songs “Shot in the Dark,” a ripping, fuzzed-out anthemic jam, and “Good Looks,” a similarly ear-splitting, but more structured garage-y jam. Written, directed, and edited by the band’s newest member Michelle Peña, the first video feature the band—comprised of brothers Sean and Devin Connell as well as Laurie Spector—mostly hanging out, smoking, and looking stylish and cool throughout different D.C. locales, most notably a cemetery. The second video features the brothers Connell rocking out in an alley and a glittery party setting, with a mysterious sunglasses-clad blonde girl at the focus of the video. At the end, she puts a pie in a briefcase along with some records, a bottle of Coke, and a copy of the Communist Manifesto. All hail Foul Swoops.
