It was the tweet heard round Arlington.

Galaxy Hut, the popular Clarendon bar, tweeted out, “galaxy hut for sale,” this morning with a link to a Craigslist ad selling a beer tower and kegerator. Responses included, “Wait, what? RIP the last reason to go to Clarendon,” and “Nnnnoooooooooo!!!!!”

But fear not, people of Clarendon. The bar is simply “upgrading the beer system” not going out of business, according to an email from Galaxy Hut.

As former DCist editor Aaron Morrissey said in a tweet, the whole thing was a “nice little social experiment to see who clicks links on Twitter before reacting.”

Now if anyone’s attached to the bar’s current equipment, then it’s time to panic.
