Oddisee

Oddisee—the D.C.-based MC and producer—is best known for his excellent, mostly instrumental album, 2011’s Rock Creek Park. The album plays like a nostalgic soundtrack to D.C. landscapes, fusing old-school R&B melodies with laid-back samples. (Pro tip: The album is best digested on a long Sunday drive through Rock Creek Park, obviously.)

Today, Oddisee dropped a new track: the smoothly calming, but nonetheless exciting “Lonely Planet.” The familiar old-school R&B vibe is still front and center, but Oddisee adds in some groovy synth and guitar parts, giving it a more atmospheric spin.
