Earlier today, Washington City Paper reported that an updated witness list for the Wendy Gordon lawsuit against FishbowlDC’s Betsy Rothstein and Peter Ogburn was revealed and—oh boy—we’re in for a real treat.
The libel lawsuit, filed by D.C. area publicist Wendy Gordon, is already the stuff of a D.C. media reality show, with allegations that FishbowlDC’s Rothstein and Ogburn have waged an “unprovoked, online smear campaign” against Gordon, which “caused injury to her reputation and business interests, and caused her to suffer emotional distress and humiliation.”
And in case you missed it, the complaints made by Gordon against Rothstein and Og are pure gold:
- “Contrary to Defendants’ statement, Ms. Gordon does not post ‘insane pictures’ of herself on the Internet.”
- “Contrary to Defendants’ statement, Ms. Gordon was not ‘DTF’ (i.e., ‘down to fuck’ or looking to have sex) or ‘on the prowl’ at this charity event, and to falsely claim otherwise is defamatory per se and grossly impugns her character.”
- “Defendants also stated that anyone seeking to have sexual relations with Ms. Gordon would want to wear two condoms (i.e., ‘double bagging’), falsely implying that Ms. Gordon has some loathsome disease.”
- “Defendants also falsely claimed that Ms. Gordon is a ‘cougar,’ which is a derogatory term for an older woman who is aggressively pursuing sexual relationships with much younger men, including men young enough to be the cougar’s son.”
- “For some time now, and including in August 2012, Ms. Gordon has been involved with a relationship with a man her own age.”
And with the plaintiff and defendant’s witness list released to day, this whole thing just gets so much better. The Daily Caller’s Tucker Carlson? Yep, he might be there! FRESH 94.7’s Tommy McFly? You bet! Washington Post’s Jackie Kucinich? Sure, why not? Sirius radio host and Washington Times reporter [Correction: Mason never worked for the Times] Julie Mason? Maybe!

DCist reached out to Gordon’s lawyer, David Wachen, for comment about the witness list. “I’m not sure what there is to say” he said. Yeah, neither do we.
