Brooklyn punks The So So Glos are young, loud and snotty. Their hard rock sounds have a blue collar appeal like The Hold Steady and former tourmates Titus Andronicus. The band has been releasing records since 2007 while managing their all ages Brooklyn venue Shea Stadium. The band just released their latest record Blowout this past April and have been on a lengthy tour even since. “Son of an American” is the first track from Blowout, and it is a doozie. “American” is a fist-pumping anthem about material things like “thin T.V., ice watch (and) ice coffee.”
The So So Glos play tonight with Diarrhea Planet and The Black Sparks at DC9. Tickets are $10.
