For a touring musician, life on the road isn’t all sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll.

Long stretches of driving across the country can quickly get tedious, and it’s hard to find activities to kill time in a cramped van. Sometimes you get bored. Sometimes you get hungry. Waffle House for the tenth meal in a row gets old.

Wale knows what I’m talking about.

It’s only been a day since Wale has taken up amateur food criticism on Yelp and already he’s on a roll. With three reviews up, we’ve learned so much about the D.C. rapper’s culinary palate: He’s a big fan of Chinese food, he only recently started eating sushi, and he “cannot wait to go back” to Asia 54 on P Street NW again for the mango and sticky rice.

Here are some choice excerpts:

Mr. Chow’s in Beverly Hills, CA

Pretty sure the Chicken Satay is made with crack. Don’t let the artificially looking pink skewers turn you off…the lettuce wraps are a great starter. The lettuce is always crunchy, crispy and refreshing. Make sure to use the hoisin sauce and spicy sauce for a real taste awakening.

Asia 54 in D.C.

When the fried rice came out my mouth started watering. They said I could only choose one meat but for a little extra they allowed me to do the triple crown (chicken, beef and shrimp). I asked for it extra spicy. Good call. The spiciness was there without compromising the flavor. It also wasn’t too salty or too oily. Arguably the best fried rice I’ve had all year. I coulda snapped two orders.

House of Nanking in San Francisco, CA

This is arguably my favorite Chinese restaurant anywhere.

Move over, Tom Sietsema.
