It’s official: Marc train service between D.C. and Baltimore will begin this December.
In a press release from Martin O’Malley’s office, the governor said that $46 million will be set aside to “provide nine round trips on Saturdays and six round trips on Sundays” from this city to our northern neighbor beginning December 7. This is part of a nearly $1.5 billion transportation spending package O’Malley announced today, which also includes $689 million for construction of a “14.1-mile, east-west light rail link” called the Red Line. (Hopefully, they have better luck with that name than D.C.)
Will this new way to travel between D.C. and Baltimore during the weekend lead the two cities to finally bury the hatchet for good? Will the list madness end? Only time will tell.
