Via MPD.The man who was caught on security camera very casually robbing two diners at Pizzoli’s Pizzeria earlier this year pleaded guilty to armed robbery today.
James E. Wade was arrested in early June, two days after the Metropolitan Police Department released footage of the 30-year-old D.C. man robbing two men eating pizza in Logan Circle. The video went viral, due to the blatant nature of the crime, and was later made private by the MPD. (It can, however, still be viewed here.)
In a release about the conviction, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia’s office says the Metropolitan Police Department received many calls from citizens about the footage.
Wade, who robbed the men of cash and cellphones, will be sentenced on November 7 and a faces a statutory maximum of 30 years in prison.
