Detroit duo Jamaican Queens take indie rock songs and turn them on its head. The band takes gritty beats and mix them with off-kilter vocals that balance the line of goth and psychedelic in equal measure. The band have been on an extensive tour since July promoting their debut album Wormfood, and tonight they play their second gig in D.C. at DC 9 with Houses. “Can’t Say No To Annie” is a dark crawling track with drugged out Marilyn Manson like vocals. The video is just as out there and is a true representative of the band’s style.

Jamaican Queens play tonight with Houses at DC9. Tickets are $12.
