In a scene reminiscent of late Seinfeld, a D.C. liquor store owner was robbed and pistol-whipped last Friday but none of his customers called 911 for help.

Sarbjit Singh told WJLA two men stole the safe from his store at 6925 4th St NW, while customers continued to come in and do nothing. Well, one person did steal a six-back of beer.

When asked by WJLA if he believed the customers knew he was being robbed, he replied, “I think a child would know what’s going on and nobody, nobody did anything.” Indeed, surveillance video shows the thieves brandishing guns and jumping on the front counter. One thief even came back in to steal a bottle of tequila.

A Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson said a report did not indicate that any charges are being pursued against people who did not call 911.
