The plot thickens: Troy White of New York, N.Y. pleaded guilty today in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia for failing to file corporate income tax returns for his company from 2008 through 2011. This includes over $600,000 Wytehouse received through a third-party for work done on a 2008 presidential campaign. The shadow campaign has gone national.

The case once again involved “Executive A,” who is widely known to be influential businessman Jeffrey Thompson. He’s accused of coordinating a shadow campaign for Mayor Vince Gray during the 2010 campaign. Allow the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia’s office to explain Thompson’s alleged involvement in this case:

During a period that spanned over its 2007 and 2008 fiscal years, Wytehouse received approximately $608,750 in gross receipts related to services it provided in support of a 2008 presidential campaign. The money, however, did not come from the campaign but was funneled to Wytehouse through a corporation in the District of Columbia named Belle International, Inc. from companies tied to a private individual, identified in the court filings as “Executive A.”

According to the statement of offense, White approached a senior official with the campaign to offer “street team” services in January 2008. The senior official told White the campaign would not need his company’s services. White was then introduced by a D.C. resident who was affiliated with the campaign to “Executive A,” who set up a system where he would pay White for street team services “during the Texas federal primary and caucus election.” This continued and, in total, Wytehouse received $608,750 from “Executive A’s” company.

The name of the candidate whose campaign was the target of the alleged shadow campaign was not disclosed. As Loose Lips reports, White has been photographed with both now President Obama and Hillary Clinton.

White will be sentenced in December.
