BEER: The Brooklyn Brewery is touring the country at the moment, deeming the exodus from New York the “Brooklyn Brewery Mash,” which is also a benefit for Slow Food USA. They’re dropping into our fair city starting today and continuing through September 22. It’s not just about the beer either: You’ve got parties, comedy, music, readings and more. But it is also about the beer. So, so much beer.

Tonight at 6 p.m., there will reportedly be some sort of party where all the guests cook and share food. Sound good? For event details, visit www.chaoscooking.com/events. And then for more upcoming events all week, check out BrooklynBreweryMash.com.

JAZZ: Twins Jazz will feature alto saxophonist Marty Nau from 8-11:30 p.m. According to our friends at Capital Bop, Nau “can sound a good deal like his idol, the bebop legend Phil Woods, but is also comfortable playing in a more aged, swing-oriented style.” He will play two sets. There is a $10 cover and $10 drink minimum. 1344 U Street NW.

SHAMELESS HIPSTERISM: Mustache Mondays at the Mansion on O (2020 O Street NW) will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. In what sounds like it could also be a pretty cool date night, for those of you who get creative when wooing, for $30 you get the following: “Traveler Beer Company Beer + Mustache,” bowl of chips and dip, unlimited popcorn, “Curious Traveler Treasure Hunt with Prizes,” illustration and poetry contest, also with prizes, and free reign to explore more than 100 rooms (including 32 secret doors and two wine cellars!). Cash bar. Like Downton Abbey but with more Instagramming! Online reservation required. Go here for that.

RAW IS WAR: The “RAW Artist Happy Hour with a Taste of RAW” will take place from 6-10 p.m. at Jin Asian Caribbean Soul Lounge (2017 14th Street NW). Touted as a chance to rub elbows with fellow artists in the area, RAW will feature $5 happy hour specials until 8 p.m, a DJ, other musical entertainment, photography, fashion, other artsy stuff. Probably worth a look. RAW RAW RAW.

LECTURE: From 7 – 9 p.m. the Anacostia Community Museum (901 Fort Place SE) will hold a panel discussion “about how public access and the arts can meet at the waterfront, providing a center stage for communities to gather.” Call 202-633-4844 for details.

MUSIC: Café Tacuba will be at the Fillmore Silver Spring tonight. These veterans of sound and stage, playing together since 1989, hail from Ciudad Satelite, Mexico, and are so freaking versatile—shifting from traditional folk songs to punk to dance music—and their lead singer so charismatic, it’s worth the trip up to the Spring. Special Guest Ocho De Bastos.

EVEN MORE MUSIC: Screaming Females and Waxahatchee are playing Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW). And they’re pretty cool, too. $13 mainstage, doors at 8 p.m.
