After TruOrleans—H Street’s cajun-inspired restaurant and bar—was shut down last week for unpaid taxes, the restaurants owners have been pretty quiet about the future of the troubled restaurant.
Well, it looks like the TruOrleans will be shutting its doors for good. In a post on the eatery’s Facebook page, someone from the restaurant’s management posted the following message:
Since our opening in 2011, all of us at TruOrleans have enjoyed the company of H Street and the rest of DC. We would like to thank all of you who came out to enjoy the festivities, company, drinks and food at our restaurant in the past.
Unfortunately TruOrleans is now closed. But we just want you to remember to “laissez les bons temps rouler”.
Let the good times roll…
The news was first reported by District Cuisine, who got the news from co-owner Brad Howard.
Over the past year, Young & Hungry has documented the various problems TruOrleans has faced, including various tax issues with its owner, James “Tru” Redding, along with problems with neighbors, lawsuits, and potential eviction from its landlord.
Au revoir, TruOrleans.
