GOVERNMENT: Interested in how the government and entrepreneurs can collaborate? (You know, when it’s not shutdown). Hear quick talks about public and private innovation from the Chief Technology Officer of the United States, the Program Executive for NASA’s Asteroid Grand Challenge, the Acting Deputy Secretary of the Department of Commerce and others at GovFest at The Fairgrounds (1299 Half Street SE) this evening. BEER: Enjoy the beers of Allagash Brewing Company and the cheese of Cowgirl Creamery at Pizzeria Paradiso’s Dupont location (2003 P Street NW) and Scion Restaurant (2100 P Street NW) this evening. Each location will have 10 Allagash beers on tap, Pizzeria Paradiso will serve a pizza with Cowgirl Creamery cheese, and Scion will offer beer and cheese flights. Starts at 5:00 p.m., half-priced draft beers until 7:00 p.m.

VARIETY: The Wonderland Circus is back at The Wonderland Ballroom (1101 Kenyon Street NW) tonight with comedian Kevin Blackerby, musician Harris Face, comedian Shahryar Rizvi, comedian Jenn Tisdale, and burlesque artist Aurora Wells. 8:30 p.m. $5 suggested donation.

ART: Artist Ellen Harvey discusses her work, The Alien’s Guide to the Ruins of Washington, D.C., which has been on display at the Corcoran (500 Seventeenth Street NW). Before or after the lecture attendees can visit the exhibit. 7:00 p.m. Free.
