In an effort to promote “cruelty-free fake snake” skin clothing and accessories during D.C. Fashion Week, PETA will send three of its female members out to Farragut Square tomorrow, wearing “little more than bodypaint,” according to a press release.
The animal rights organization that often raises eyebrows for some of their questionable tactics—like sending women in “lettuce” bikinis out around Capitol Hill—will be sending the three “bodypainted beauties,” who will be painted to look like pythons, out around Farragut Square around noon, with signs that say “Leave Wildlife Out of Your Wardrobe,” to remind people passing by that—hey!—their eyes are up here! Also, to not buy clothes made from animals.
“I’ll gladly bare my skin to help snakes keep theirs,” PETA “python” Ashley Byrne said in the press release. “Fashion Week is the perfect time to explore new trends—and thanks to designers like Stella McCartney, cruelty-free fake snake is hotter than ever.”
Because cruelty-free fake snake is so hot right now. Just ask this guy.
