The Watha T. Daniel Library in Shaw.

In keeping with Mayor Vince Gray’s declaration that the city government will be open tomorrow, federal government shutdown be damned, all D.C. Public Libraries will be open as well.

DCPL spokesman George Williams confirmed that they will go with the mayor’s plan to keep the city running. This is welcome news, as the city’s public libraries are set to begin implementing extended hours tomorrow. It also means that DCPL’s 117 new employees will have somewhere to be.
