Well, here we are. Just a few hours into the federal government shutdown that’s furloughed more than 800,000 employees. How’s everyone doing so far?
Just to make you feel a little better, President Obama sent a nice letter to all federal employees affected by the shutdown to thank them for their tireless service and tell them he hopes “we will resolve this quickly.” Obama also writes that “this shutdown was completely preventable. It should not have happened.” And that “none of this is fair to you.”
In the letter, Obama pledges to do everything in his power to make this government shutdown as short as possible. So, rest assured furloughed government employees, Obama feels for you.
