ART HAPPY HOUR: Tonight’s Create at the Corcoran Happy Hour is going digital, focusing on “Sketching with the iPad.” Attendees will “learn about form, composition, color, and other traditional studio concepts while sketching masterpieces included in the Corcoran’s renowned pre-1945 American paintings and sculpture collection.” Only requirement? You must bring your own iPad or touchscreen device. 6:30 p.m. $25 members, $30 non-members.

DANCE PARTY: Mr. Belding (a.k.a. Dennis Haskins) brings the Saved by the Bell spirit to Kabin’s (1337 Connecticut Avenue NW) Decades Happy Hour this evening. Each hour of the event the music jumps forward ten years, starting in the 60s at 6 p.m., the 70s at 7 p.m., the 80s at 8 p.m., and so on. 6-11 p.m., drink specials from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Free (but registering is recommended).

FOOD & DRINK: As part of its Grape Festival, Zaytinya (701 9th Street NW) is hosting a complimentary wine tasting this evening featuring the wines from Greece. 5-7 p.m. Free.

MUSIC: It’s still weird to see Bill Callahan smile. The Austin based singer-songwriter has always had a Very Serious Disposition on stage and in interviews. But listening to his latest record Dream River, he seems happy. Maybe that’s now seeping into his press photos. Good for him. New Bums – the latest project from Six Organs of Admittance‘s Ben Chasny — joins him at Sixth & I Synagogue ( 600 I Street NW). 8 p.m. $20-25. – Andy Hess
