The Metropolitan Police Department has released video showing two persons of interest in the Ten Commandments statue vandalism that occurred on Capitol Hill in late September.
The suspects are both white males, one of whom police say was wearing a blue shirt and light-colored pants and the other a red shirt and dark pants.
Faith and Action, the Christian outreach group who placed the statue in the front garden area of their headquarters a few years ago, previously said they would not press charges against the people responsible for knocking over the 850-pound statue if they agree to sit down for a talk about religion. The group suspects that the toppling of the statue was “well planned” and not random.
The group, who recently prayed with Sen. Ted Cruz outside the White House, is looking for $10,000 in donations to repair the Ten Commandments statue.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.
