D.C.’s favorite pop-punk goofballs The Max Levine Ensemble just released a music video for the track “Ghost Song.” The track isn’t new—it originally appeared on their split with The Spirit Animals in 2005, and then reappeared on their retrospective album Mr. Gikokovich 2000-2005—but the song’s not-so-subtle political undertones and Halloween-esque theme makes it quite relevant during the current political climate.
The gloriously kitschy animated video is like something from a ’90s Saturday morning. Directed and animated by Ben Levin, the video finds the trio as ghosts, risen from the grave to haunt the President and members of Congress, presumably to get their shit together and end this shutdown.
At least someone is trying to scare these guys straight.
