This Friday, several stores in Petworth will be mobbed (hopefully in a good way) by shoppers.

Think Local First D.C. and ElevationDC will sponsor a so-called “cash mob” this week at stores near 9th and Upshur Streets NW, including Willow Fashion, Annie’s Ace Hardware, Petworth Community Market, Domku Café, Petworth Citizen, as well as the pop-ups Cherry Blossom Creative, Carmen Eliam Jewelry, Grey Moggie Press and Junius Cold Brew Coffee Company.

“We are so excited to be showcasing nine different local businesses in this wonderfully unique neighborhood,” Stacey Price, executive director of Think Local First, said in a release. “While the main goal of this program is to support retailers, for the Upshur Street CashMob Crawl we have included two great restaurants, Domku and Petworth Citizen, who will both be hosting awesome MADE IN DC pop-up retailers.”

According to a release, participating mobbers will first visit Petworth Market to “pick up their ‘CashMob Passport’ and shop their way through the businesses” from 5 to 7 p.m. Mobbers, who can RSVP here, with a stamp from every business could win a gift bag.
