Here’s something new to feel stressed out about: A winning lottery ticket purchased in Alexandria, Va. this May will expire next week. Its worth? $100,000.

The Virginia Lottery says the ticket is from the May 2 Cash 5 drawing at the 7-Eleven at 5834 North King’s Highway in Alexandria. The ticket will transform from something worth $100,000 to a worthless piece of paper on October 29 at 5 p.m. The winning numbers were 6-15-18-23-32.

If no one claims the money, it will go to the state Literary Fund, which “is used solely for educational purposes, such as upgrading technology in schools and teacher retirement funding.”

So far on Facebook, several people have come forward to feel sad about how they don’t have the ticket. Unfortunately, pity is worth nothing.

The lesson here for lottery players? Never, ever throw a ticket away.
