FOOD & DRINK: Tonight through November 3, Oyamel (401 7th Street NW) will be celebrating The Day of the Dead with menu items “inspired by the pre-Hispanic foods set out as offerings on traditional Day of the Dead altars,” like Sopa de Calabaza (pumpkin soup), Pato Frito en Chile Seco (fried duck in a dry chile sauce), Ostiones Pimentos (ightly poached oyster with bay leaf). Dishes from $10 to $20 and cocktails from $11 to $13.

BALLET TALK: Septime Webre, artistic director for the Washington Ballet, discusses the upcoming production of Giselle at the England Studio Theater (3515 Wisconsin Avenue NW) this evening. 6:30 p.m. Tickets: $25.

ART: RAW D.C. presents Encompass, an art, fashion, music, photography, and performance art event at Penn Social (801 E Street NW) this evening. 7-11 p.m. $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

TUESDAY: The Last Resort Comedy Show brings local comedians to the Old Dominion Brewhouse (1219 9th Street NW) this Tuesday and every Tuesday. 9-10:30 p.m. Free.

WEDNESDAY: Sample a flight of four whiskeys and hear from Fred Minnick, author of Whiskey Women: The Untold Story of How Women Saved Bourbon, Scotch, and Irish Whiskey, at the Whiskey Women Book Signing event at Jack Rose Dining Saloon (2007 18th Street NW) this Wednesday. 6-8 p.m. Tickets: $30 (includes a signed copy of the book).

THURSDAY: Ten chefs will prepare “dishes that require no utensils” at the F*ck Forks event (629 New York Avenue NW) benefiting Fuck Cancer this Thursday. There will also be wine pairings from Cordial Fine Wine, cocktails from four D.C. mixologists, beer from Starr Hill, and more. Tickets: $95. 6-9 p.m.

FRIDAY: Tilted Torch’s Halloween-themed variety show, Spook-o-rama, brings burlesque, music, performance art, and more to the Anacostia Arts Center (1231 Good Hope Road SE) this Friday. 9 p.m. $10 in advance, $15 day of.

SATURDAY: What could be creepier than a party at a cemetery? Come out for the Ghosts and Goblets Soirée at the Historic Congressional Cemetery (1801 E Street SE) this Saturday for drinks, dancing, and night tours of the 206-year-old cemetery. 8 p.m.-1 a.m. $60 general admission, $80 VIP.

SUNDAY: Take the little monsters trick-or-treating at the National Zoo this weekend (Friday and Sunday, Saturday has sold out), at the annual Boo at the Zoo event. 5:30-8:30 p.m. $20-$30.
