Carve up a pumpkin (reservations have closed, but there will be some extras first-come, first-serve), have a drink (beer, wine, hot apple cider), grab a bite (pumpkin ice cream, pulled pork sandwiches, edamame wraps), listen to live music, go on a candy scavenger hunt, and stop by the mini petting zoo. 4:30-7 p.m.
FOOD & FUNDRAISING: Ten chefs will prepare “dishes that require no untensils” at the F*ck Forks event (629 New York Avenue NW) benefiting Fuck Cancer tonight. There will also be wine pairings from Cordial Fine Wine, cocktails from four D.C. mixologists, beer from Starr Hill, and more. Tickets: $95. 6-9 p.m.

MUSIC: The legendary Kronos Quartet turns 40 this year and to celebrate Phillip Glass has written a new piece for the legendary group to perform at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at the University of Maryland for its East coast premiere. Glass, a Baltimore native, has commissioned pieces with the group which released Kronos Quartet Performs Philip Glass in 1995. $10-50, 8 p.m. – Andy Hess
