Early in the summer, the Captain America sequel, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, had an extended stay in D.C., filming around the National Mall, Dupont Circle, the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge, and the “other” D.C.
So how did it come out? Well, the first trailer was released today and it looks like D.C. gets blown to smithereens. There’s shots of Robert Redford with a very picturesque office view of the National Mall, gun battles and explosions downtown, and S.H.I.E.L.D.’s signature Quinjet crash landing somewhere along the Potomac. Good thing the government shutdown is over, because someone needs to clean up that mess.
