Singer Chris Brown will appear in D.C. Superior Court today on a felony assault charge stemming from an incident outside a swanky D.C. hotel this weekend.
Brown and his friend and bodyguard Christopher Hollosy were arrested early Sunday morning outside the W Hotel in downtown D.C. after they allegedly assaulted a man who tried to get into a photograph. According to a police report, a witness asked to take a picture with Brown. When the victim tried to get into the photograph, Brown allegedly said, “I’m not down with that gay shit” and “I feel like boxing.” Brown then allegedly punched the victim in the face with a closed fist, as did Hollosy, the report says. Hollosy then pulled Brown toward his tour bus, and they both stayed on the scene.
The report says the victim was experiencing swelling and had a bruise near his nose. The Metropolitan Police Department said in a release the victim was taken to an area hospital and was released.
A source from Brown’s camp told the Washington Post that the alleged victim’s version of events is “nonsense.”
