Earlier today, the pro-regime hacker collaborative Syrian Electronic Army claimed responsibility for compromising a link shortener used on President Barack Obama’s website, Twitter account, and Facebook page.

Mashable says that the organization sent them an email confirming that they are indeed responsible for the hack.

On Obama’s Facebook page, links posted directed to different SEA videos, Gizmodo reports, and the president’s donation website redirected to SEA’s site, according to The Hacker News.

It also appeared that Obama’s Twitter account had been hacked, as “at least one tweet that points to a graphically violent SEA video on YouTube” was posted, but that’s since been removed. An Organizing For Action official said it was a link shortener account that was hacked, not the Twitter account. Twitter confirmed this.

Right now, everything seems to be back to normal, but SEA has sent off a barrage of tweets claiming responsibility for the hack. The SEA previously claimed responsibility for hacking the Washington Post’s website.
