As the controversy over the Washington football team’s name flames on, the Oneida Indian Nation—the Native American group spearheading a national campaign to get the team’s offensive name and mascot changed—will be meeting with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell today.

Oneida Indian Nation representative Ray Halbritter is meeting with Goodell and other NFL officials this afternoon in New York City to discuss the ongoing concerns about the Washington football team name, and plans to hold a press conference immediately after, where he’ll discuss the meeting, and “next steps in the Change the Mascot campaign,” according to a press release.

Yesterday, Washington football team owner Dan Snyder reportedly met with Goodell regarding the team’s name, where he “reiterated to Goodell that he has no plans to change the Redskins’ name,” according to the Post.
