MUSIC: New Orleans “Queen Diva” of Bounce Big Freedia brings ass shaking and call-and-response to The Howard Theatre (620 T Street NW) this evening with some special guests. Last year DCist writer Rohan Mahadevan described a Big Freedia show as “the most fun you can have on a Saturday night.” Doors 6 p.m. Show 8 p.m. $20.

MOVIE: Hold on to the last bit of spookiness from Halloween at the final night of AFI Silver Theatre’s (8633 Colesville Road
Silver Spring, Md.) Halloween on Screen movie series. This evening’s flick is the 1963 film The Haunting, based on the novel The Haunting of Hill House. 5:15 p.m. $9.

COMEDY: Underground Comedy brings local comics to Townhouse Tavern (1637 R Street NW) tonight and every Monday night. 8 p.m. Free.

TUESDAY: Reddit Co-founder Alexis Ohanian discusses “the secrets of entrepreneurship, marketing advice, and how to ignite a grass-roots internet movement” as well as his new book, Without Their Permission: How the 21st Century Will be Made, Not Managed, at the George Washington University School of Business (2201 G Street NW) this Tuesday. 8-10:30 p.m. Free (RSVP recommended).

WEDNESDAY: Handi-hour at the Renwick Gallery (1661 Pennsylvania Avenue NW) this Wednesday combines happy hour with craftmaking. The craft at this event will be basketmaking, to go with the A Measure of the Earth: The Cole-Ware Collection of American Baskets exhibit. 5:30-8 p.m. $20 (includes two drinks, snacks, and craft supplies).

THURSDAY: The Phillips After 5 event at the Phillips Collection (1600 21st Street NW) this Thursday is “Seeing Double,” exploring Van Gogh’s “twins and multiple” works. Come out to time travel through Van Gogh’s pieces with Dr. Who, rock out to The Redd Brothers, and hear 15-minutes art talks. 5-8:30 p.m. $10-$12. Twins or multiples receive free admission for this event.

FRIDAY: Super Art Fight, a live art competition with pro-wrestling bravado, hits the Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW) this Friday. Come out and cheer on the artists who must face topics chosen from the “unpredictable Wheel of Death!” 9:30 p.m. $15.

SATURDAY: Only 50 days til Christmas. Get a jump on gift buying at the Czech Christmas Market at the Embassy of the Czech Republic (3900 Spring of Freedom Street NW) this Friday and Saturday. The market will feature hand blown Czech ornaments, carol performances, music workshops, gingerbread cookie decorating, and more. Friday 3-6 p.m. and Saturday 1-6 p.m. Free admission.
