This year, help those in the community facing life-challenging illnesses receive healthy and delicious meals. Slice of Life supports Food & Friends’ critical mission of home-delivering nutritious meals and groceries to children and adults facing HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-challenging illnesses. Slice of Life is a simple way for the community to give back during the holiday season.

Purchase a locally-baked pie through Slice of Life for yourself or buy one for a Food & Friends client which will be delivered along with a great Thanksgiving spread. There are five varieties to choose from. Pie sales close on Thursday, November 21st. Visit www.foodandfriends.org/pie to purchase online, to find a directory of pie sellers or to volunteer for Slice of Life. Pre-purchased pies can be picked up on Tuesday, November 26th at one of their convenient pick up locations throughout the DC Metro Region. Here’s a list of the available flavors and their prices:

Spiced Pumpkin Pie – $25
Homemade Apple Pie – $25
Oh So Sweet Potato Pie – $25
Nutty Pecan Pie – $35
US Airways First Class Cherry Pie – $45 (Those who purchase the US Airways First Class Cherry Pie will receive one chance to win a $1,200 US Airways gift card)
