Columbia Heights brunch aficionados take note: El Chucho Cocina Superior will start serving the meal this weekend.
According to a press release, the new menu will debut on Saturday, with four brunch items: a breakfast-y spin on Chilaquiles, with braised black beans, ranchero salsa, queso fresco all wrapped inside a crispy tortilla; buttermilk Masa pancakes served up with cinnamon butter, agave-maple syrup, and fresh fruit; green eggs and ham, which is actually two poached eggs, ham, and black beans served on crispy huaraches and topped with chimichurri hollandaise; and rum raisin tamales, which are two cream cheese tamales topped with rum raisin sauce and served with fresh fruit. They’ll also be serving up brunch cocktails, which include red or green Bloody Marys, mimosas, and french press coffee.
Between Meridian Pint, The Coupe, Red Rocks, Room 11, Maple, Kangaroo Boxing Club and Wonderland Ballroom, and now El Chucho, I am now rechristening 11th Street NW in Columbia Heights as “Brunch Row.”
El Chucho Cocina Superor is located at 3313 11th St. NW. Opens at 11:30 a.m. on weekends.
