Chris Cox—the mysterious bearded man who took it upon himself to do some pro bono yard work around the Lincoln Memorial during the government shutdown—is being honored for his selfless efforts with a new chainsaw.
According to a press release, on Wednesday, Crowd It Forward—a charitable organization that does Random Acts of Crowdfunding—will present Cox with a chainsaw and other donations at the Lincoln Memorial as a thank you for his landscaping efforts during the shutdown. Because nothing says “thank you” quite like a brand new chainsaw.
The chainsaw is being presented by STIHL, the world’s leading chainsaw manufacturer, according to a release, and the other gifts are from the proceeds raised by Crowd It Forward, which has raised $1,810 for Cox so far. The ceremony will happen at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, weather permitting.
