BEER GALA: Jack Rose Dining Saloon (2007 18th Street NW) wants you to “dress to the nines and get your wiggle on” this evening at the Samuel Adams Autumn Gala, “a night of gambling, games, and giggle juice.” The event includes an open bar featuring 20 Sam Adams drafts, hors d’oeuvre, and casino games, including craps, black jack and roulette. 7-10 p.m. $30.

STORYTELILNG: Get ready for some pants on fire, Story League brings “Lies, Lies, Lies,” stories of lying or being lied to, to the the U Street Music Hall (1115 U Street NW) stage tonight. The storytellers of the night are Story League winners from past competitions, in the categories of Gossip, Comedy, Gay Love, and Villains. 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $14.

ART AFTER HOURS: Corcoran Uncorked, the Corcoran’s (500 Seventeenth Street NW) art and activities evenings, has an “Eye on Design” tonight. Hear a talk on bird-inspired fashion designs, attempt your own fashion illustrations, have a drink, play Jenga, and more. 5-9 p.m. Tickets: $12.

FOOD & DRINK: Head to Vinoteca (1940 11th Street NW) tonight for the Green Hat Gin Cocktail Shakedown, where five Vinoteca mixologists will compete to create the best cocktail. The winner will be picked by a panel of judges including Anna Spiegel from Washington Magazine, Amy McKeever of Eater, Vinoteca owners, and the public. 7-9 p.m. $25.
