Daniel Snyder: Washington football team; $1 billion; Potomac, Md.
While more and more lawmakers and politicians have chimed in to say the Washington football team should change their name and mascot, with the D.C. Council even passing a resolution urging owner Dan Snyder to do so, few have had a good suggestion for what they should change it to.
Luckily, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has come forward with one. Well, kind of.
In a talk with BuzzFeed’s John Stanton during one of the website’s “BuzzFeed Brews” events, The Hill reports, Pelosi said that the football team should just hold a contest to decide what to change the name to. Good idea, Nancy!
“I don’t know if there’s any will to change the name,” Pelosi joked, “but maybe a good enough name, you never know.” True, you never know. Anyway, if there was a contest to change name, what would you vote for it to be? Let us know in the comments (because there’s no way this will backfire on me).
Hail to the [TBD]!
