MUSICAL THEATER: Take a classic monster tale and add electric guitars and what do you get? Landless Theatre’s production of Richard Campbells’ Frankenstein: A Prog-Metal Rock Opera at the Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW) tonight. 8 p.m. $10.

TUESDAY: Local comedians who’ve performed at DC Improv, Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse, Laugh Factory, and more come together this Tuesday for the Last Resort Comedy Show at Old Dominion Brewhouse (1219 9th Street NW). 9-10:30 p.m. Free.

WEDNESDAY: Come see the lighting of the National Menorah on the Ellipse this Wednesday. There will be speakers, music, and free latkes and donuts. 4 p.m. (gates open at 3:15 p.m.) Free (but tickets required).

THURSDAY: Before digging into a turkey dinner this Thursday help the hungry and homeless in D.C. at the 12th annual Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger, from So Others Might Eat, at Freedom Plaza (corner of 13th Street, NW and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW). There will be a one mile fun run for kids starting at 8:30 a.m. and a 5k run/walk for adults at 9 a.m. $30 for untimed participants, $35 for timed participants.

FRIDAY: The Downtown Holiday Market (8th and F Streets NW) kicks off this Friday and continues through December 23. Stop by for artists selling clothing, photography, jewelry, pillows, soaps, and much more. 12-8 p.m. daily.
