The District Department of Transportation has some bad, but not unexpected news: Work on the M Street cycletrack didn’t begin this morning because it’s too cold.

According to DDOT, surface temperatures have to be greater than 40 degrees for “concrete and pavement pours to cure and for pavement markings to adhere to roadway.”

But to make it up to all the disappointed cyclists out there, DDOT tweeted out a Breaking Bad GIF.

A quick look at the week’s weather shows that the air temperature will be above 40 degrees tomorrow and Wednesday. But! It may rain. Friday is forecasted to be above 40 degrees and sunny, so there’s that.
