Seriously, it’s going to be like Hoth out there tomorrow. Nah, just playin’. Photo by newfarmphotography.

There’s a weird wintery storm hitting D.C. today and tomorrow, and with it comes the chance of snow. A slight chance. Minuscule. Very slim. Like, a 10 percent chance of an inch of snow or less, according to The Post. Regardless, we should all start freaking out now, because that’s what we do best in D.C. From the Post:

If it snows, it’s most likely “conversational snow” (and/or sleet) that may whiten grassy areas and car tops rather than sticking on roads and snarling traffic. Having said that, we cannot rule out some slick travel in our colder north and west suburbs mid-to-late Wednesday afternoon (30 percent chance). And, if somehow a heavy snow band develops, there’s a chance things get “interesting” even in the immediate metro area (10-20 percent chance).

“Conversational snow.” As in, “HOLY SHIT, DID YOU HEAR IT MIGHT SNOW TOMORROW? I NEED TO GET OUT OF TOWN RIGHT NOW.”

I kid, I kid. While the chance of snow is slim, the reality is there will most likely be some sort of nasty wintery mix; rain to a combination of sleet and snow. If snow does happen, it could “begin along the I-81 corridor before noon,” and be in D.C.’s “western suburbs by 1 p.m., and along and east of I-95 between 1 and 3 p.m.” The bottom line, the Post says, is that “the prospects of snow accumulation across the area Wednesday afternoon and evening are low, but they increase as you go north and west. In the immediate D.C. area, there’s about a 50 percent chance of “conversational” snow.”

So there you have it. And all kidding aside, regardless of whether we have snow or not, the roads will be slick and in bad condition, so be safe out there, motorists!

Also, snow puns!
