The Metropolitan Police Department is asking the public to help them identify the body of an elderly woman that was found in the Potomac River near the Watergate Hoel Complex earlier this month.
MPD and fire officials recovered the body from the Potomac River, across from the 2600 block of Virginia Avenue NW, on Friday, November 1 at approximately 1:43 p.m. According to a press release, the woman “was discovered wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, and black ‘easy stride’ shoes.” She was believed to be between the ages of 65 and 75.
Police have yet to identify the body and are asking anyone with information about the decedent’s identity to either call police at (202) 727-9099, or text information anonymously to the MPD’s Text Tip Line at 50411.
