While stores in the immediate D.C. area seem to have been spared from early Black Friday-related violence, a man in western Virginia was not so lucky, having been stabbed in a Walmart parking lot over a space.

The Claypool Hill report from WVVA:

Reports are confirmed by Tazewell county 911 dispatch that a stabbing occurred Thursday night around 6:30 PM at Walmart in Claypool Hill.

The Tazewell County Sheriffs Office is handling the case.

Sheriff Brian Hieatt tells WVVA it happened in the Walmart parking lot. He says two men, 61-year-old Ronnie Sharp of Russell County and 35-year-old Christopher Jackson of Jewell Ridge in Tazewell County, were arguing over a parking space.

This escalated into a threat with a firearm, and then Hieatt says Sharp used a knife to cut Jackson in the arm, slicing down to the bone.

Sharp was charged with malicious wounding and brandishing a firearm, according to WVVA, and Jackson was charged with disorderly conduct and assault and battery after he was released from a hospital. Both men are out on bond. Happy holidays.
