A gun was fired on an Orange Line train early Sunday during an argument between two men.

A Metro spokesperson said that two men who knew each other were involved in a dispute on a train bound for New Carrollton around 2 a.m. today. “During the incident, one male was struck in the head with a gun by the other male,” the spokesperson said. “The contact of the gun with the victim’s head caused it to discharge one round, breaking a window on the train.”

No other passengers on the train were injured. The suspect was arrested at the Cheverly station by a Metro Transit Police officer, and the victim was taken to a hospital with a non-life-threatening laceration.
