Several people who want to be the next mayor of D.C. will appear at a candidate forum tomorrow evening. Mayor Vincent Gray will not be among them.

In the first forum held after he announced his reelection campaign, Gray will be unable to attend because of a scheduling conflict, his campaign manager Chuck Thies told the AP’s Ben Nuckols. Councilmember Tommy Wells (D-Ward 6) will also not attend, according to his campaign staff. Neither will Muriel Bowser (D-Ward 4) because of a prior commitment, her campaign manager Bo Shuff said.

Councilmember Jack Evans (D-Ward 2), Busboys and Poets owner Andy Shallal, former State Department aide Reta Jo Lewis, businessman Christian Carter and Michael Green confirmed their intention to attend the Premier Community Development Corporation forum to DCist. A voicemail box for Councilmember Vincent Orange’s (D-At Large) campaign was unavailable and an email has yet to be returned.

A flyer promoting the forum does not list declared candidates Frank Sewell or Octavia Wells as guests.

The forum, organized by the Ward 5 community member organization, will take place at the Israel Baptist Church (1251 Saratoga Avenue NE) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Denise Rolark Barnes, publisher of the Washington Informer, will moderate.

An email and call to Premier CDC has not been returned.
