Metropolitan Police Department Chief Cathy Lanier says she’s “very concerned” about the recent allegations of “egregious conduct” by two police officers.

Officer Marc Washington was charged earlier this week with production of child pornography for allegedly taking illicit photos of a 15-year-old girl. Washington’s also accused of taking photos of other women at crime scenes, including victims of domestic violence and minors. In a separate incident, a missing teen was found in the apartment of a veteran D.C. police officer who is accused of running a prostitution ring.

From WJLA:

During the early morning search of the officer’s home, MPD officers discovered the girl in a back bedroom. She told officers that she had met the suspect about two weeks ago, and after several meetings, the suspect told her that he had made a “date” for her with an older man.

That “date” was of to be a sexual nature, documents say. The teenage girl, whom the suspect told the victim that her prostitution name was to be “Juicy” – was told she’d be paid $80 for performing sexual acts on the man and that she was supposed to give $20 of that to the suspect.

She also told officers that she had met six other girls inside the Southeast D.C. apartment who told her that they were also being prostituted, including with ads posted on backpage.com.

Marijuana and condoms were seized from the officer’s apartment.

“We recognize that the actions of individual officers reflect on the entire Department,” Lanier said in a statement. “To uncover any potential malfeasance by officers, the Department regularly conducts audits and investigations of their conduct and behavior, both when on-duty and off-duty. The misguided actions of a few in no way reflect on the professionalism, dedication, and integrity of the Department. As we have seen several times this year with three officers shot in the line of duty, MPD officers put their lives on the line every single day to protect residents and visitors in the District of Columbia. That will not change.”
