FILM: The Reel Women – La Mujer En El Cine festival at the Gala Theatre (3333 14th Street NW) celebrates women filmmakers of Mexico and Spain with a series of screenings and discussions. The festival kicks off tonight with a screening of She Doesn’t Want to Sleep Alone (No Quiero Dormir Sola) at 7 p.m., followed by a discussion with the director, Natalia Beristain, at 8:30 p.m. The rest of the festival will take place this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Tickets are free.

CRAFTS & A GOOD CAUSE Create a parol, a Philippine Christmas lantern, and help raise funds for Typhoon Haiyan Relief at ArtJamz’s Jammin’ For A Cause event in Dupont (1728 Connecticut Ave NW) this evening. 8-11 p.m. Tickets are $25 and include craft materials and one drink. Fifty percent of each ticket will be donated to UNICEF.

LIGHTS: Swing by the National Zoo (3001 Connecticut Avenue NW) tonight through January 1 for ZooLights, the zoo’s annual lights display featuring animals and illuminated trees. 5-9 p.m. Free.

MUSIC: Lupe Fiasco plays the 9:30 Club (815 V Street NW) tonight with Stalley, The Boy Illinois, and Dee-1 on the Tetsuo and Youth Preview Tour. 7 p.m. $40.
