Tomorrow is the one-year anniversary of the awful shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School that claimed the lives of twenty children and six adults in Newtown, Conn.

To commemorate the anniversary, people from the D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia chapters of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America will meet at Canal Park in the Capitol Riverfront—steps away from the Navy Yard, where Aaron Alexis fatally shot twelve people in September—to honor victims of gun violence. There will be a “communal bell ringing—a moment of ‘No More Silence’—to honor the victims and to show resolve to refuse to stay silent on gun violence,” a release states.

The commemoration will start at 2 p.m. at the park, and will also feature speeches from Shannon Watts, the founder of MDAGSA and Anne Woodworth, and a song performed by the Chorale Arts Society.
